Porsche 911 T refresh
Jun 24th, 2020
Back in 2019, the crew at Pfaff Reserve rolled in this Tangerine dream as the newest member of their diverse inventory of classic, exotic, and unique vehicles. This little 911 wasn’t for sale though, not at that time, Pfaff Reserve had a brighter future in mind.
For the guys at Reserve, it is never just about the sale of a car, it is about the story, the journey, and preservation.
In the grand scheme of classic 911’s, this 911 T was in decent condition, but that simply is not good enough. The decision was made to breathe new life into the Porsche before offering it for sale, to ensure it left our dealership ready to live another 50 years.
First things first, our master classic mechanic Val pulled the engine and began disassembly and cleaning which included a complete top end overhaul: new exhaust valves, valve guides, and seals, as well as new intake valve seals. Replacement of all associated gaskets and seals, cylinder base gasket replacement, and cleaning of pistons. The fuel distributor was rebuilt, injectors cleaned and bench tested. A new fuel filter and fuel pressure accumulator were fitted, the carbon canister and expansion tank were also replaced. New ignition wire, ignition coil, and spark plugs followed as well as new Porsche batteries, and new ground straps. The braking system was reworked as well including rebuilt calipers, brake flush, and refinished brake disc hats.
Finally, to bring some 21st century flair to the 911 T, the ride height was lowered, and the front and rear US spec crash bumpers were replaced with 911 S trim.
Upon completion, we nearly didn’t get the car over to our studio to shoot before it found a new home, which we and the crew at Pfaff Reserve are incredibly happy about. This new beauty will enjoy its new life on the road!
